Lorton: Prison of Terror
This is a documentary about one of the most ruthless and notorious prisons in American history. It was built in Lorton, VA in 1910 to exclusively house D.C. prisoners. Because of lack of funding, the prison(s) fell into disrepair which created hostility and eventually it was totally controlled by the prisoners in which murders, assaults and escapes became a normal routine.
This documentary takes us back to the War of 1812 to give an historical account to the creation of the 8 Lorton prisons.
